Backpack Wallet users are able to enter Sonic's Testnet Odyssey event.
How To Use Sonic in Backpack Wallet
- Download Backpack Wallet
- Create new Wallet (and Backpack Secret Phrase)
- Got to Settings > Preferences > Toggle Developer Mode On
- Open Wallet menu (at top of Wallet) and select the dropdown menu
- Choose 'Add Network' and select 'Sonic Devnet'
- Select the top choice to add Sonic Devnet to the Wallet
- Press 'View Balances' button to start using Sonic Devnet

What is Sonic?
Sonic is the first Solana L2 that is primarily used for blockchain games like Fomoney, Rage Effect, Fansi, Sugar Kingdom and Delysium.
A full suite of tools aimed at blockchain gaming developers to utilize Solana's lightning fast transaction speeds and minuscule costs.
Although Sonic is purpose built on the Solana blockchain, it allows developers to write EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) programs and execute them as SVM (Solana Virtual Machine) contracts.
HyperGrid is the specific framework which enables this multichain behavior.
What is HyperGrid?
HyperGrid was created by Mirror World Labs, the framework is the developer infrastructure which powers Sonic.
HyperGrid enables Solana blockchain game developers to deploy custom Sonic SVM (Solana Virtual Machine) programs.
The unique scaling architecture of HyperGrid is built on Solana however is aligned with EVM-compatible chains like Polygon. Optimism and Arbitrum.
Sonic's Testnet Odyssey
Testnet Odyssey was the first public unveiling of Sonic and the HyperGrid infrastructure.
Sonic collaborated with numerous established blockchain games like Fomoney, Rage Effect, Fansi, Sugar Kingdom and Delysium and made them available.
Testnet Odyssey was a blazing success by all accounts, in just two weeks they posted 300K unique wallets and 52M individual transactions.
